It's that time of the year again, the holidays are just around the corner! And, while we all have different ways of celebrating, this time of year presents us with an opportunity — the unique occasion to pause the hurried pace of our lives to take a moment and spend time with those who mean the most to us … including our four-legged friends.

Each holiday season, there are certain traditions that we look forward to. We spend hours in the kitchen with our family preparing our favorite dishes. We give unexpected gifts to our neighbors to spread holiday joy. We decorate our homes with festive decor and climb to dangerous heights to hang holiday decorations. These are things we do that bring those close to us even closer.

But Are We Including Every Family Member In Our Traditions? Even The Furry Ones?

All families are different, but most of us are lucky enough to have four-legged family members. So, this holiday we want to make sure that the most loyal family members aren’t forgotten.

Whether we're making new holiday traditions or bringing back old ones, our holiday traditions should include our four-legged family members, and we're here to help!

We’ve created a fun-filled list of pawliday activities that will make this season extra special for your fur babies:

  • Create a Treasure Hunt
  • Bake Homemade Pawliday Treats
  • Add Treats as Stocking Stuffers
  • Throw a Pawliday Party

Before going into each pawliday activity, remember that the holiday season can bring added stress to our fur babies. The extra travel or house traffic can cause unwanted stress. For this reason, it’s wise to create a safe space for them to escape the noise, traffic and festivities or provide a calming sensation, for example with a CBD-infused chew toy.

Now onto our list …

Treasure Hunt And/Or Gifts Under The Tree

Unwrapping gifts under the tree is a perfect holiday activity for your pet to join in.

As your friends and family gather around the tree and begin exchanging presents, surprise your furry friends with a gift of their own. This is a simple way to include your fur babies in the holiday festivities.

Want to go the extra mile? Create a treasure hunt and invite their furry friends to join in the fun!

Rules:

  • Hide dog treats in a specific area of the house, park or backyard.
  • Bring your fur baby and their friends to that area.
  • Demonstrate to your fur babies where the first treat is … and let the hunt begin!

This fun activity will be a hit with your doggos and all their furry friends. Plus, looking for treats is a great way to stimulate your pet's senses and give them a workout.

Homemade Pawliday Treats

Baking during the holidays is tradition in almost every home. We make gingerbread houses and bake delicious treats that sweeten the season.

Since you are already in the baking mood, include your fur baby in the process of making delicious, pet-friendly homemade treats. They can even try the dough as you make it!

Here are some ideas for homemade pawliday treats:

Make sure you use pet-friendly baking mixes and ingredients that agree with your fur babies' tummies.

Treat Stocking:

A holiday stocking for your pets is an easy way to include them in the celebration and a unique way to spoil them with all sorts of treats.

The idea is simple: Hang a stocking low enough for your fur babies to reach and stock it with treats daily. Just make sure you choose healthy treats!

Pawliday Party

Another awesome way to celebrate this holiday season is by throwing a pawliday party for your fur babies! Scroll through your contacts and invite friends and family that are fellow pet “pawrents.” You can host the party in your backyard or a local park.

Each guest brings a Santa Paws gift that can be exchanged during your party.

A pet party can help your pets get a break from all the hoomans and allow them to release built-up energy. It’s also the perfect occasion for your fur babies to socialize and get a little exercise as well.

Holiday Meal For Your Fur Baby?

Try adding our Freeze-Dried Turkey, Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans & Cranberries pawTreats to your fur baby’s existing food to create a holiday meal.

And Just Like That, You'll Have The Perfect Pawliday!
